Miami University Puts $281M Arena Up for Final Vote

Miami University in a matter of days could green-light and approve financing for one of its largest-ever construction projects, a $281 million arena at the school’s Oxford campus.

As Miami’s men’s basketball team continues its unbeaten 2026 season on its way to a possible NCAA tournament appearance, the school’s board of trustees at its Feb. 27 meeting will consider three resolutions related to the new multipurpose event center and arena project.

One resolution approves the project itself, allowing school personnel to begin contracting for the construction project.

Arizona Announces Stadium Upgrades

Arizona Athletics today announced a series of game day enhancements to improve the fan experience at Casino Del Sol Stadium, beginning with the 2026 football season. These investments are informed by community feedback and the athletic department's recently completed feasibility study.

"We value our fans and appreciate the passion and support they bring, which are part of what makes Arizona Athletics so special for our student-athletes and the entire university community," R. Ken Coit Director of Athletics Desireé Reed-Francois said. "The feasibility study gave us clear insight into what matters most, and we are acting decisively on those priorities."

Fan input consistently identified sound as a top concern, leading to plans for a new, state-of-the-art sound system. Arizona will also modernize its video boards, which are 16 years old and rely on components that are no longer available, making replacement essential. Finally, as Arizona hosts more night games, upgraded lighting will play an important role in enhancing the overall stadium atmosphere.
