The Houston Texans, Harris County, and Howard Hughes Communities™ today unveiled the first look at development plans for Toro District™, the 83-acre sports and entertainment destination in Bridgeland®, located in Northwest Harris County. The site is located in Bridgeland's urban core, Bridgeland Central®, to the west of Grand Parkway off Peek Road. When complete, the project is estimated to generate approximately $34 billion in long-term economic impact and create more than 17,000 jobs across the region over time.
The new headquarters for the Texans will span more than 175,000 square feet, serving as a centralized hub for both the team's Football Operations and Business Operations. The state-of-the-art complex will include an indoor fieldhouse and three outdoor NFL training fields, creating a premier environment for year-round preparation and performance. Designed to host nearly 16,000 attendees, the fieldhouse will double as a dynamic event venue, capable of accommodating a wide range of public and private gatherings—from local meetings and graduations to marquee NFL events and other premier national programming.
Grambling State Reveals Vision for Indoor Practice Facility
Grambling State isn’t just building a practice facility. It’s building its next era. On March 6 at 11 a.m., the university will officially break ground on a state-of-the-art indoor athletic training facility adjacent to the Eddie G. Robinson Memorial Football Stadium support complex. The ceremony marks a major step forward for one of the most storied HBCU athletic brands.
Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Trayvean D. Scott framed the project as more than a construction milestone.
“Today, we announce breaking ground on more than a facility — we’re building the next chapter of excellence,” Scott said. “This indoor facility is an investment in our student-athletes, our coaches, and our future. It honors our legacy while positioning us to compete at the highest level. The best days of Grambling State University Athletics are still ahead.”
