Browns Break Ground on New $2.4B Stadium
The Cleveland Browns plan to put shovels in the ground on Monday to begin the first major work on their $2.4 billion indoor stadium, keeping to a schedule they say will allow them to open in time for the 2029 season.
This portion of the work will involve digging a giant hole for the building that will sit 80 feet below the surface and rise 221 feet above ground.
A ceremonial groundbreaking is planned at the end of April, after which structural work on the stadium is expected to begin.

In the works for several years, Des Moines leaders are on the brink of unveiling the city's newest recreation center on the north side.
Plans for the Reichardt Community Recreation Center have been in progress since at least 2021, when community members shared their vision for what would replace the aging John R. Catholic School in Omaha Plans $15M Athletics Facility
Skutt Catholic High School will soon get a facelift.
On Friday, officials unveiled plans for new athletic facility.
The "Skyhawk Power Project" includes a basketball court, volleyball court, indoor track, weight room, golf simulator, and locker room.
Officials said the 40,000-square-foot building will serve every student.
"Now, the main reasons for building this is, first off, is safety, keeping our students on campus for training. You know, a lot of times with with weather, you go off-site for different training things. This will be able to keep all students on campus connected to our building and training year round at Skutt Catholic High School, where everybody's comfortable to be at. It'll be a place of community," said the school's president Dr. Jeremy Moore.
