Tufts Announces Plans for New Aquatics Center
Tufts University announced that it will be submitting plans to the City of Medford, Mass., for a new aquatics center on College Avenue, with construction expected to be completed by the start of the Fall 2028 semester.
The aquatics center will be transformational for the Jumbos’ men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams, which currently practice in pools both on- and off-campus. The space will also enable new campus-wide fitness and wellness programming and create more opportunities for community programming for the university’s neighbors in Medford and Somerville.
The back-to-back 2022 and 2023 NESCAC champion women’s swimming and diving team, and the men’s swimming and diving team, which finished in the NCAA Division III Top 10 from 2023 through 2025, will relocate to the new center.
Oregon Lawmakers Approve $42M for New Bend Rec Center
Oregon lawmakers approved $42 million in state-backed bonds to help build a student recreation center at OSU-Cascades in Bend, a project university leaders say will support student health and improve retention while preparing the campus for future growth.
The 40,000-square-foot building will serve as a hub for student health, wellness and recreation, not only offering a dedicated place to work out, but also housing preventive care and mental health services.
Chancellor Sherman Bloomer, dean of OSU-Cascades, said center is especially important for low-income, rural and first-generation students.

Their generosity – fueled by a shared commitment to winning nationally at the highest level – is a statement that our future is bright. "We are so thankful for our alumni who have stepped up to make so many of our dreams a reality at the WMU Soccer Complex.
