
Oklahoma City, OKC Thunder Break Ground on New Arena
City and team officials will break ground next week on the new arena for the Oklahoma City Thunder. Construction is expected to be complete in 2028 and the arena is expected to be ready for the Thunder’s 2028-2029 regular season.
The arena will be built where the former Cox Convention Center previously stood between E.K. Gaylord Boulevard, Sheridan, Reno and Robinson avenues. Renderings show a 360-degree glass curtain wall with panoramic views from all interior concourses.
SFU Unveils New Tennis Complex
The University of South Florida proudly opens its state-of-the-art varsity tennis courts. Along with top-tier playing surfaces, enhanced spectator seating, and modern lighting systems, it supports elite-level training and competition. The courts will serve as the home for USF's men's and women's tennis programs, providing an excellent environment for athletes, coaches, and fans.
The newly constructed facility features 12 competition-ready courts, with the six courts on the north side serving as the primary match courts. Designed to elevate both player performance and the fan experience, the complex introduces several first-of-its-kind enhancements for USF Tennis.
Among the highlights is a brand-new 13x23-foot LED videoboard, the first of its kind for the program. At each of the 12 courts, scoreboards provide real-time match updates throughout the facility. To bring it all together, a state-of-the-art sound system will enhance the atmosphere on match days. The facility is also equipped with a cutting-edge lighting system from Musco, allowing the Bulls to host matches and practice at night. In addition, a permanently installed broadcasting system, Playsight, enables easy-to-watch match streaming and analytics.
Morgan County Schools Commits to Athletics Facilities Upgrades
Morgan County Schools are in the middle of major upgrades to outdoor athletic facilities across the district, including new baseball and softball complexes, new turf fields, and drainage improvements.
A Priceville High School crews are building a new baseball and softball complex.
Superintendent Tracie Turrentine said the goal is to bring more outdoor athletic facilities onto school campuses.
