Richmond Flying Squirrels Open $110M CarMax Park 

After more than a decade of delays and setbacks, the Richmond Flying Squirrels will play their first home game Tuesday at the new CarMax Park.

The multi-million dollar stadium, which features one of the largest video boards in minor league baseball and significantly upgraded player facilities, represents the culmination of a promise made when the team arrived in Richmond in 2010.

After more than a decade of delays and setbacks, the Richmond Flying Squirrels will play their first home game Tuesday at the new CarMax Park.

Designs for a $44M Expansion of Philly's Carousel House Completed 

Designs for a $44 million expansion of Carousel House, the city’s recreation center for people with disabilities, are finished and construction is expected to begin late this summer, officials say.

The project will add new gym and pool buildings to the 49-year-old center in Fairmount Park’s Centennial District, along with a larger playground, reconfigured parking and dropoff areas, and an extensive interior redesign, according to renderings presented at a community review meeting last month.

Tuscaloosa Academy is preparing to break ground on a new athletic facility which is said to be a transformational investment in the Tuscaloosa community.

The Building Excellence: A Campaign for the Future of Tuscaloosa Academy set out to raise $7 million to replace a gym that Tuscaloosa Academy says has limited locker rooms and and undersized field house.

With more than $5.1 million raised, the school is ready to to put shovels to dirt.

Tuscaloosa Academy Head of School Beckie Share said it’s the groundbreaking is an exciting moment for the school and community.
