University of Evansville Cuts Ribbon on New Athletics Facility
The University of Evansville has named its renovated athletic facility after board of trustees member Curt Begle and his wife, Kelley, in recognition of a major gift toward the project.
The Begle Family Sports Performance Center provides space for training, recovery and development of the university’s 300 student-athletes in 17 Division I programs.
Improvements include new weightlifting and athletic equipment, a kitchenette and storage space for athletes. Further improvements are expected to focus on student-athlete wellbeing, including an emphasis on nutrition.
The project, which has exceeded $800,000, was funded entirely through private gifts. The amount of the gift from the Begles was undisclosed.
