University of Evansville Cuts Ribbon on New Sports Performance Center
Student-athletes at the University of Evansville will soon have access to an upgraded training facility designed to support their physical and mental well-being.
The renovated athletics space will be named the Begle Family Sports Performance Center in recognition of a major gift from Trustee Curt Begle and his wife, Kelley Begle, according to a community announcement. The Board of Trustees approved the naming during their February meeting, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Friday.
The project, funded entirely through private donations, has raised more than $800,000. The new facility will serve all 300 student-athletes across UE's 17 NCAA Division I programs, providing space for training, recovery, and development.
Ball Arena Set to Renovate 24 Luxury Suites
Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (KSE) today announced plans to renovate 24 luxury suites – 16 on the first level (100-level) and eight on the Club Level (200-level) – during the summer and debuting in time for the 2026-2027 Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, and Colorado Mammoth seasons.
The newly renovated suites will be rebranded as Ball Arena Legacy (100-level) and Signature Suites (200-level), providing a completely reimagined suite experience. Renovated suites will include new quartz countertops and walls, all new finishes and appliances, additional branding opportunities for annual suite holders, and new high-end seating. Construction will begin following the NBA Playoffs and Stanley Cup Playoffs, with the first set of suites slated to be finished in July.
Washington University to Upgrade Locker Rooms, Equipment Storage Spaces
Washington University in St. Louis Associate Vice Chancellor for Students Affairs and Director of Athletics Anthony J. Azama has announced locker room and equipment room upgrades that will begin on May 18.
The project will be a comprehensive gut renovation, overhauling approximately 16,000 square feet on the first floor of the Athletic Complex.
The remainder of Ball Arena’s 89 luxury suites will be subsequently upgraded in small groups to minimize impact on available in-season inventory.
“Our expectation is for Ball Arena to offer a gameday experience that rivals any in the country,” said Mike Neary, Executive Vice President, Business Operations and Real Estate. “This is an important first step in reimagining our building to ensure we are giving Denver sports fans and our teams the world-class home they deserve.”
