University of Oklahoma president Joseph Harroz Jr. has presented the option of issuing $420 million in bonds, which would fund various athletics projects, including a renovation of Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

According to OU Daily, the Board of Regents will consider the bonds toward the football stadium, as the university plans to undertake The Palace Project, which will “strategically” decrease seating on the west side of Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium by approximately 7,000.

The project is expected to begin in 2027 and be completed by 2029.

According to OU's website, the Palace Project aims to "transform the Sooner fan experience from arrival to the final whistle, and beyond."

Unveiled renderings show expanded concourses and upgraded amenities, as well as new gathering spaces.
