St. Augustine (La.) High School announced plans to build a new baseball development facility, a project school leaders say will enhance the student-athlete experience and strengthen the future of Purple Knight baseball.
The nearly 6,800-square-foot facility is expected to be completed in early to mid-Spring 2027 and will serve as the on-campus headquarters for the school's baseball program.
According to the school, the facility will include multiple batting cages equipped with advanced performance technology, flex-training space, coaches' offices, a 34-player locker room, a weight room, and modern restroom facilities.
"As a junior at St. Aug, having access to our own batting cage meant everything to my teammates and me," said St. Augustine President and CEO Aulston Taylor. "Today's Purple Knights will have an entire first-class facility built to help them train, compete, and grow. It is an exciting time to be a Purple Knight."
