
Memphis Athletics Announces Enhancements to Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium Project
University of Memphis Senior Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Ed Scott announced new enhancements to the Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium renovation project during a press briefing Tuesday afternoon at the Penny Hardaway Hall of Fame. Scott confirmed that the project, which officially began in May 2024, remains on schedule for completion ahead of the 2026 football season.
Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium, now owned by the Memphis Athletic Foundation (formerly the Auxiliary Services Foundation), is in the final stages of its $226.5 million renovation and is expected to be completed in late August, prior to the Tigers’ home opener on September 5. Construction partners MFA, Barton Malow, and Populous continue to advance work towards a September 1 timeline.
Major Mixed-Use Development With Sports Complex Announced for I-65 interchange
The city of Decatur, Ala., and Limestone County are working with a North Carolina-based company to bring a mixed-use development anchored by a sports complex to Alabama 20 near the Interstate 65-565 interchange.
Synergy Sports made the announcement earlier this week about the development, which would be built on property currently owned by Calvary Assembly of God. The development, to be called The Crossroads of the Tennessee Valley, would be across the interstate exchange from Westmoore Landing, a mixed-use development currently planned in the Huntsville city limits where about 3,000 homes are proposed.
New Sports Center Opens in Madison, Wis.
The Forge Sports Center, a new complex housing courts for futsal, pickleball and volleyball is preparing to open its doors in Madison on June 22.
The center is located at 4845 Tradewinds Parkway in Madison. The complex has space for two international-size futsal courts, two volleyball courts, eight pickleball courts, a cafe and a pub.
The Forge offers training, court rentals and memberships depending on what sport visitors are looking to get involved in.
