
$50M Soccer Stadium Pitched for Palm Beach State College
A sports management company wants to build a $50 million soccer stadium at Palm Beach State College for professional and collegiate teams, according to a proposal being considered by the college’s Board of Trustees.
Palm Beach Sports Management is pledging to construct of an 8,000-seat stadium on about 12 acres in the southeast corner of the campus off Sixth Avenue South just west of Lake Worth Beach.
Beaufort County Breaks Ground on Rec Center Expansion
There will soon be another location for recreational activities for those in Beaufort County and beyond.
Beaufort County officials, along with Town of Bluffton officials, Nix Construction, Wood and Partners, and Davis and Floyd, held a groundbreaking ceremony June 30 for the Buckwalter Recreation Athletic Complex Expansion (BRACE) project, according to county officials.
The new expansion will be located at 905 Buckwalter Parkway in Bluffton.
“This $14 million investment will bring four new athletic fields, artificial turf, evening lighting, and supporting infrastructure to the Buckwalter Recreation Center, helping meet the growing demand for recreational space in Bluffton,” a Town of Bluffton spokesperson said.
South Mississippi County Chamber of Commerce Hold Grand Opening for Osceola Aquatics Center
The long-awaited Osceola Aquatics Center opened Saturday.
The South Mississippi County Chamber of Commerce announced the center had its grand opening and ribbon-cutting on July 4 at 11 a.m.
The pool opened to the public for the first time at noon. It will close at 6 p.m. Osceola will host a fireworks show at the center at 9 p.m.
