UCF Celebrates Completion of Roth Tower at Acrisure Bounce House
It's a happy coincidence for athletic director Terry Mohajir, but the $90 million Roth Tower renovation upgrade is ready just in time for UCF's 20th football season inside the Acrisure Bounce House.
Mohajir cut the ribbon with Orange County commissioners and welcomed media, donors and coaches inside the reopened, four-level tower on Aug. 20 — two weeks before the Knights face Bethune-Cookman to open the 2026 campaign.
"I've been at every one of the (Big 12) facilities; this is as good as any one of them," Mohajir said. "When we built the original tower, it was great. But there are different phases of our program, and this is just the next phase. … We kind of outgrew it. Now, we're building more. It puts us on par with any Power Four school in the country."
Christus Health Cuts Ribbon on New Performance Center
Christus Health and the Athletic Performance Health Center celebrated the opening of the CHRISTUS Health Athletic Performance Center with a ribbon cutting Friday in Tyler.
Officials said the merger combines sports medicine, physical therapy and strength training under one roof that serves everyone, from young athletes to adults.
“There’s no other facility like this, even in the Metroplex,” said Ryan Dupre, the head strength and conditioning coach at the Christus Human Performance Center. “With the backing of a health system as we have now, with our doctors, our physical therapist and athletic trainers. This is a one-stop shop where you can get healthy, recover and get better.”
The center already draws athletes from across East Texas and hopes to continue expanding opportunities for future generations of competitors.
Inside Idaho's First Indoor Volleyball Facility
What was once an empty dirt lot next to the Treasure Valley Athletic Center has been transformed into Idaho's first indoor beach volleyball facility.
Treasure Valley Beach will hold its grand opening at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, offering a new place for recreational and competitive players to take the court year-round.
Owner and founder Collin Hartman said the project grew out of his longtime connection to the sport and his desire to create a dedicated beach volleyball space in the Treasure Valley.
"We bought this building in 2021. My wife and I for indoor club volleyball," Hartman said. "I grew up playing volleyball in the area and played some college volleyball out in Wisconsin before moving back and getting my coaching start at Northwest Nazarene University and then started my volleyball club here in 2021."
