The YMCA of Greater Brandywine, a Philadelphia suburb, has debuted its new “Fit Truk” in hopes of making health and wellness more accessible to everyone.
“It allows us to go to various places to create access to numerous people that cannot get to us. It is an amazing tool. It allows for fitness, youth development, other health initiative programming and also opportunities for partnership,” Bertram Lawson, president and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Brandywine, told WPHL in Philadelphia.

The Fit Truk will go to various locations across Chester County.
“It’ll be a great tool for schools, universities, hospitals as well as workplaces for people to be able to engage in health," Lawson said. "We happen to be the second YMCA in the country to bring this to our service area.”
The Fit Truk is available to anyone regardless of their fitness level.
Wendy Young, the Brandywine Y's director of community and mobile health, said the truck provides full strength and cardio workouts in the time these activities typically take. "It’s just amazing that we can actually provide access to all,” she said.
