Over the span of two seasons, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have seen both sides of supply and demand. The team has removed roughly 3,600 seats that had been added last year to accommodate demand for what was Tom Brady’s third, and ultimately final, season as quarterback.
According to NBC Sports, citing PewterReport.com, the temporary seating section in the south end zone, dubbed the Krewe's Nest, had replaced a concourse in 2022, pushing capacity of Raymond James Stadium to nearly 70,000.
"That’s why the Bucs would have welcomed Brady back for 2023, if he had wanted to play," wrote Mike Florio of NBC Sports. "And it’s why they would roll out the red carpet right now, if he were to decide he wanted back in."
While Bucs fans likely lament the retirement of a future first-ballot Hall-of-Famer, many commenting on a Friday tweet by PewterReport, a decades-old credentialed media site, expressed no regret over the loss of the Krewe's Nest. "Thank god," said one, while another simply typed, "Buh-Bye!!"
