Welcome to Fundraising Friday: AB Today's weekly digest of recent developments in development.

Tim and Sherry Magnusson, who married as seniors at Central Michigan University,  have made their largest gift to date — $2 million — to support CMU Athletics and the CMU College of Business Administration. As students, the Magnussons loved attending sporting events, beginning a lifelong commitment as CMU Chippewa fans, according to an.April 10 announcement at cmich.edu. This commitment influenced their decision to fund the enhancement of student-athlete health and wellbeing, and their donation is the first major gift to the recently announced Maroon & Gold BOLD campaign for CMU Athletics.

The University of West Florida will have a new football stadium on campus, thanks in large part to a $9 million donation from Darrell and Debbie Gooden, whose gift represents the largest from a living donor in the school's history. According to an April 11 report by ABC affiliate WEAR in Pensacola, the stadium will feature 7,500 seats and be built around the current field. UWF officials hope to break ground in 2026.

A $6.5 million donation from Sanford Health to the University of North Dakota will go toward endowments in sports medicine and behavioral health and an ongoing construction project. According to a report Monday in the Grand Forks Herald, most of the gift — $4 million — will go toward completing the $23 million in additions to the Fritz Pollard Athletic Center, which broke ground last year.

East Carolina University graduates Paul and Sybil Moody Trevisan have made a $1 million investment in the Pirates Unite Campaign for Comprehensive Excellence, Pirate Club executive director Ryan Robinson announced April 11. The Trevisans' contribution will directly support the Dick and Sarah Bennett Baseball Building expansion project, one of several initiatives within the Pirates Unite Campaign aimed at enhancing the facilities and resources available to student-athletes, according to ecupirates.com..

Total amount of these gifts:

$16,000,000
