The James and Agnes Kim Foundation has pledged $1 million to support financial aid for deserving squash student-athletes at Fordham University. According to Fordham's announcement Thursday, the endowed fund established by this unprecedented gift will be used to support an athletic scholarship or grant-in-aid for a squash student-athlete who might otherwise not be able to enroll at or continue to attend the university.
West Sac Play, a group of parent volunteers committed to improving the parks of West Sacramento, Calif., has donated $30,000 to the city's Parks and Recreation Department. As reported by the West Sacramento News Ledger, the donation will help the department responsible for maintaining more than 39 parks totaling more than 200 acres, more than 52 miles of trails and an urban forest of 30,000 trees.
