Now on tap for Wildcats fans is the Kentucky Blue Light, an easy-drinking lager providing an easy way to support University of Kentucky student-athletes.
The beer, released this past week, is the result of a partnership between Club Blue and Gravely Brewing. Club Blue is a partner of UK Athletics that provides students with NIL opportunities and funding. So, a portion of all sales of this co-branded beer will support Club Blue and fund student-athletes’ NIL deals.
“This partnership was a no-brainer. By making Kentucky Blue Light their UK game day beer of choice, fans are easily able to display their support, while making a tangible financial impact toward NIL,” said Madison Carey, director of operations at Club Blue.
Fans who can’t wait to get a taste of the new official beer of UK student-athletes can try a pint on tap at KSBar and Grille or buy cans at several retailers in Kentucky.
The Kentucky Blue Light isn’t the first NIL-related beer to hit the market this year. As reported by AB in July, Texas Tech is pouring pints of their popular Raiderland Red Pale Ale. The beer funds an NIL collective at Texas Tech, The Matador Club, very similar to the process at Club Blue.
As more athletic departments partner with NIL collective organizations, fans at other universities may one day be sipping on their own school-spirit-themed beverage. But the brews at Texas Tech and the University of Kentucky are boldly pioneering sports fans’ favorite pints.

Nathaniel Gravley, founder of Gravely Brewing and a University of Kentucky alum, told KSR News, “We are honored and ecstatic to join forces with Club Blue, a collective that shares our commitment to community engagement and support for Kentucky. As a lifelong fan with blue blood, this passion project has created a way for fans to support Kentucky’s NIL efforts while also enjoying a deliciously refreshing beer brewed in Kentucky.”
