A youth football game in Detroit descended into chaos after gunfire erupted near the stadium on Sunday.
According to multiple outlets, three teenagers were wounded by gunfire as the game was being played. A 14-year-old male and two 15-year-old females were hospitalized and in stable condition.
“Eight-hundred people and outside that two groups — one fired, the other (group) shot back in an exchange of gunfire,” interim police chief James White said according to WXYZ.
The incident happened around 6 p.m. in the area of Boston and Martindale, Detroit Police told 7 Action News.
“Very unfortunate and unnecessary situation when you’ve got people using gunfire to resolve whatever disputes that they are having,” White said according to TMZ.
