Basketball fans at the University of North Texas will get to decide how the court looks when the Mean Green hit the hardwood next season.
The Denton Record-Chronicle reports that fans will get to choose from among three distinct court designs when the Super Pit’s floor is refinished. Voting will be conducted via online poll.

The poll runs through Friday, and the winner will be announced at a later date.
Fans will choose from designs including a lit McConnell Tower, a swooping green eagle, and a UNT flag spanning the entire court.
The designs represent a trend in college athletics, where more traditional court designs have been left behind in favor of those that feature a more unique look. As the Record-Chronicle points out, some of UNT’s Conference USA rivals have courts that follow the trend, including Florida International’s beach look and the University of Texas El Paso’s mirrored pickaxes.

Fan voting for court designs has been a trend recently as well, and schools such as the University of Memphis and the University of Nebraska have opened up their court designs to fans in recent years.
