The University of Florida announced plans to enhance baseball and softball facilities, including building a new stadium for the baseball program. The plans call for upgrades to the current softball stadium, and for the building of a 10,000-seat ballpark at a combined cost of $130 million. The baseball stadium will include a 360-degree open concourse, enhanced concessions areas and modernized locker room space, a training room, batting cages, a practice field, and new coaches offices. The baseball project is expected to cost about $50 million, and is expected to be complete ahead of the 2020 season. —Source: FloridaGators.com

Oklahoma State University began construction on a new $60 million baseball stadium on Thursday. The new stadium will have a seating capacity of 6,000-6,500, but be able to expand to 8,000. Other features include a 360-degree concourse, a 7,400-square-foot locker room, a sports medicine area, a weight room, and a unique dark glass wall in center field that will allow fans views of the action. The project will replace the 38-year-old Allie P. Reynolds Stadium, and is expected to be complete by spring 2020. —Source: TulsaWorld.com
