Facility Friday: UCF's Stadium Makeover, New Badger Locker Room, HS Gymnasium

2021 10 07

FBC Mortgage Stadium, home of the UCF Knights, is going to get a new addition. An expensive one.

On Tuesday, the Orange County Board of County Commission voted unanimously to approve a $90 million tower addition for the stadium, to be paid for by excess revenues from the Tourist Development Tax over 10 years. [Deseret News]

In the world of college athletics, the importance of state-of-the-art facilities cannot be overstated. They serve as a place for players to prepare physically and mentally and as a symbol of a program’s commitment to excellence. Recently, the Wisconsin Badgers basketball program took a giant leap forward in this regard by unveiling their brand-new, state-of-the-art locker room on social media. [Badger Notes]

Construction on the new high school and junior high buildings and the gymnasium at Melcher-Dallas is ahead of schedule.

The project will provide significant upgrades for the ag and shop, music, and art departments. The construction in the gym will include a new fitness center that will be open to the public during non-school hours. Melcher-Dallas Superintendent Scott Bridges says that both will be nice additions to the school. [KNIA-KRLS]
