La Salle University announced the unveiling of its arena renovation project that will elevate the new home for Explorers men's and women's basketball.
The arena renovation project at TruMark Financial Center will feature a 360-degree bowl design that will change the court orientation, from east to west instead of north to south. The new seating will bring fans closer to the action. There will also be a hospitality area and additional premium seating surrounding the court. [GoExplorers.com]
Rice University and Houston Methodist will unveil the Houston Methodist-Rice University Center for Human Performance in an Oct. 10 kickoff event featuring demonstrations of the center’s state-of-the-art capabilities. Located in Rice’s Tudor Fieldhouse, the center will allow physicians, academic researchers and university students to work side by side with student athletes, trainers and coaches to advance research, clinical care initiatives and educational activities in exercise physiology, injury prevention and rehabilitation. With the help of lead donors Alexa and Dave Albrecht, the University of North Dakota Athletics broke ground on Memorial Village II and Albrecht Field during Homecoming Week.
The future of on-campus, UND Fighting Hawks softball was celebrated with the help of President Andy Armacost, Director of Athletics Bill Chaves, UNDAAF CEO DeAnna Carlson Zink and the softball team, among many other officials, collaborators and friends of UND.
