The 2024 HBCU National Champions unveil a new putting room ahead of the new school year thanks to donations from the Rattlers-in-Arms and the Plant City Alumni Chapter.
"This is a very transformational project on our campus," said Vice President and Director of Athletics Tiffani-Dawn Sykes. "Special thanks to Mr. Stubbs, Mr. Pickett, Mr. Kinsey, the Plant City Alumni Chapter, and Rattlers-in-Arms for making an investment in this space so our student-athletes can work on their game no matter the weather or time of day."
"I want to thank Mr. Kinsey, Pickett, and Stubbs. I picked up the phone and said, 'Hey, look, this is an idea we have. I think it's huge to have a putting facility.' There's no other HBCU that has this," said Head Coach Mike Rice. "We're trying to be the trendsetters, and I thank you guys, as you have been supporting us for years."

Coastal Carolina University has reached another milestone for its largest donor-funded project in university history.
Last September, the university broke ground on its latest addition to campus: a $20 million, 93,000-square-foot indoor facility across Brooks Stadium. It’s set to house an artificial teal turf regulation-size field for football practices.
The facility will also include two filming platforms, restrooms, storage rooms, and an athletic training space accessible from inside and outside practice areas. [WMBF]

On their first day of school Monday, St. Charles Borremeo School students became part of a celebration and ribbon-cutting for their new $7 million gymnasium and science center.
Prior to the ribbon-cutting, Father John Fitch, who presides over the school founded in 1960, and St. Charles Borromeo Church in Port Charlotte, expressed gratitude to the donors.
“They did this for you; they gave up their hard-earned wages,” he told students, before asking them to “say thank you … and maybe give them a hug or high-five.” [Gulf Shore Business]
