The Frisco (Texas) City Council has approved a $182 million public-private partnership with FC Dallas to renovate Toyota Stadium. The renovation, which will begin in 2025, will enhance the guest experience by integrating innovative designs, cutting-edge audio/visual technology and a variety of fan-first amenities at Major League Soccer’s third-oldest soccer-specific venue which has also been home to Frisco ISD athletic events since 2005.
“When Toyota Stadium opened in 2005, it was a state-of-the-art facility that was ahead of its time, and the stadium’s success has helped pave the way for dozens of other soccer-specific stadiums across the country,” FC Dallas Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt said. “Today, we are delighted to announce these renovations which will modernize the stadium and elevate the fan experience, once again establishing Toyota Stadium as one of the premier facilities in Major League Soccer.”
The upgrades will include a robust roof structure to provide shade for the majority of fans in the seating bowl, as well as expanded seating capacity, improved ingress and egress along with new concession stands and restroom locations. [FCDallas.com]

Members of the Florida Southern College women’s lacrosse team stood beside the athlete recovery pool Wednesday afternoon in the nearly completed Adams Athletic Performance Center, seeming eager to plunge into the 41-degree water.
Gabriella Connelly, a senior defender, explained that she and her teammates now must fill plastic tubs with cold water in an outside area when they seek cold-water immersion after a practice or training session. That means having to be wary of thunderstorms and lacking privacy from passing pedestrians.
The gleaming HydroWorx pool, contained inside its own small room, is one of many reasons Florida Southern athletes and coaches were beaming Wednesday during the dedication of the Adams Athletic Performance Center. The college invited donors and supporters for the gathering, which included a ribbon cutting in the spacious weight room, serving for one day as a banquet facility. [The Ledger]
