An ambitious plan unveiled Thursday to develop an expansive sports and entertainment district in San Antonio comes with a new Spurs arena in the heart of downtown.

City staff put several years’ worth of speculation to rest when they detailed “Project Marvel,” the code name for a sweeping vision centered around a new basketball stadium and an expanded convention center.

The proposal, revealed during a city council special session, also includes a new convention center hotel tower, an improved Alamodome, acres of retail and residential development, new roads and infrastructure and a land bridge spanning Interstate 37. [San Antonio Report]

Several Madisonville community members came out to not only see the new name and brand, but to get more of a look at the new Madisonville sports complex.

The Kentucky Sports Factory is now the official name and brand. It’s a multi-use facility with areas for basketball, volleyball and other different games.

General Manager Brett Roddy is excited about the future.

“This is something that has been in a making for 20 years, where they can come and play train and just congregate in this great facility,” said Roddy. “But also, be the economic driver for the community as well.” [WFIE]

While Michigan loves its football and hockey, baseball is still America's greatest pastime and has hundreds of thousands of fans in the Mitten state. Many kids start with Tee ball and find themselves falling in love with the game, playing for years, and becoming a fans of the MLB.

Many of them have dreams and inspirations of becoming one of the best players in the Major Leagues. They spend countless hours watching or attending MLB baseball games, hoping to experience history while watching the game they love. This creates memories and builds bonds that last a lifetime.

Going to a baseball game can be one of the best experiences that someone has and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg like many other sporting events. The cheapest MLB tickets are somewhere between $10-$30 and the food can be cheap as well. This has created an atmosphere where people will go to baseball games because they have nothing else to do.
