It was approximately 25 years ago that I first heard Dr. Ken Dychtwald speak. His projections on my generation, the baby boomers, and how we would evolve over the next two and a half decades were absolutely spot-on.
As we have matured, along with our bodies and perspectives, our needs have shifted to less of an emphasis on looking good to much more of an emphasis on feeling good, being healthy and maintaining function for an active lifestyle throughout our senior years. Once again successful independent clubs evolved their facilities and programs to take care of those needs.
Over the next decade, we will be challenged to transform our strategies, marketing, branding, and programming and how we manage our workforce to fully capitalize on the key trends of both an aging baby boomer generation along with the maturation of their children, the eco boomers. At the iClubs Conference, you will have an opportunity to not only hear Ken’s keynote address, but will also spend an additional four hours with other fellow independent club operators drilling down into the details of his presentation and how to put the ideas and concepts to work in your club.
What a great opportunity to spend quality time with one of the foremost thought leaders on population aging, its profound business, social, health care, financial, workforce and cultural implications. I can tell you from firsthand experience that the lessons I have learned from hearing Ken speak several times over the years and reading his books have been among the most influential in helping me plan for the future of the club companies that I have been privileged to lead.
