A North Carolina gym owner is in hot water after he posted a video on social media that featured his female clientsā rear ends.
Besides showing the women bending over in tight workout pants, the video overlayed comments like āHump Day,ā and āDayum!ā The video was posted on the gymās Instagram page, but the outrage began after someone took still images from the video and posted them on Facebook.
Since then, the gymās social media pages were flooded with negative comments, and Facebook reviews took a deep hit.
Tom Tomlo Jr., owner of Blue Ridge CrossFit, said he made the video in a sense of fun, and that the women in the video consented to being featured. However, Amanda Turlington told the Asheville Citizen-Times that she did not consent, and was only made aware of the video after a friend pointed it out to her.
āTo me, itās disgusting,ā Turlington told the Citizen-Times. āHere we have women in a vulnerable position, and what does he do? He takes the opportunity to take video where weāre all inverted and you have no idea what weāre doing, and he takes that when he canāt tell what heās doing, and then posts that inappropriate video and inappropriate hashtags on the image of our bodies on Instagram for everyone else to see.ā
Tomlo posted a defense on a page dedicated to the gym, saying that āsome people chose to get butt hurt today.ā
āCreating some sort of delusional and ignorant drama is not your option here,ā Tomlo continued.
Turlington told the Citizen-Times that she quit the gym due to the incident.
