The Bergstroms of Seminole, Fla., are turning a family hobby into a business venture.
Jason Bergstrom, a father of nine who has previously competed on the popular TV show American Ninja Warrior, has spent years turning a former basketball court in the backyard into a ninja obstacle course with swinging ropes, tires, pegs, planks, a warp wall and more.

Jason told WTSP-TV, “It’s the kind of gym that does more than gives you a workout. It’s the kind of gym that brings people together, that creates community. It’s the kind of place where people are going to establish some friendships.”
The Bergstroms hosted their first private event at the future site of Jungle Gym last year at Halloween. “It filled up like that,” said wife Kathy Bergstrom. “We thought, there’s a huge need in this area for this type of thing.”
Jungle Gym will feature a variety of obstacles to appeal to all ages and skill levels, all modeled after popular modules seen on American Ninja Warrior. The Bergstrom family hopes to open the gym for commercial use by the end of this year.
“We feel like we’re going to scratch an itch that nobody is scratching right now,” Jason said.
