A look at this week's top stories.
Happy Friday and welcome to November, everybody.
The AB office is busy preparing for the AB Show, which kicks off next week! If you’ll be joining us in Orlando, please swing by our booth and say hello. AB editors and staff will be on hand, and we’d love to meet you. You can still register for a free expo-only pass! Visit www.abshow.com for details.
Here’s a preview of what to expect this year, in case you missed it.
Now, to the news highlights…
- “I always tried to be a bargain to the university.” That’s what former Louisville athletic director Tom Jurich had to say about how much he earned in that position, which was a reported $2.76 million. Jurich was fired amid the FBI’s college basketball probe that also cost men’s basketball coach Rick Pitino his position.
- An SUV crossed a median in Pennsylvania and collided, head-on, with a bus carrying members of a high school football team. The driver of the SUV was killed, but no student-athletes were harmed. Be careful out there!
- The former chief security officer for the NFL writes about protecting sports venues from terrorist threats.
