Four people were injured after a bus carrying the Abilene Christian University football team was involved in a crash with another vehicle after the team played Texas Tech in Lubbock on Saturday.

As reported by The Athletic, citing a school announcement Monday, Abilene Christian football coach Keith Patterson, assistant Conor Dubin and defensive back Sam Mason Jr. were injured in the accident. Patterson and Mason were released from the hospital soon after they were evaluated for their injuries and Dubin, a linebackers coach, was discharged from the hospital Monday, the school said. Police said a teenager is facing drunk driving charges after crashing into the bus.

Abilene CBS affiliate KTAB reported that 19-year-old Parker Young was arrested for driving while intoxicated . A search of the Lubbock County jail showed Young was in custody.

The bus driver also was injured, according to CBS News.

According to The Athletic, the team was returning home to Abilene after a 52-51 loss to Texas Tech at Jones AT&T Stadium when the collision occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. just off the Tech campus. Video posted to social media showed a white truck with extensive front-end damage at the scene, The Athletic reported. Police said a man ignored traffic signals and crashed into the bus, according to a statement from the school. The impact pushed the bus into another vehicle, the school said.

“We express our sincere appreciation to the medical staff at UMC, the Lubbock police officers, firefighters and first responders who rushed to take care of our team members, and the Texas Tech athletic department for their willingness to assist our team in any way possible,” Abilene Christian said in a statement Monday. “We also thank everyone, from our ACU family to others who heard the news, who have and continue to pray for our team and specifically those involved in Saturday’s incident.”

Patterson was back at work in Abilene on Sunday after he was evaluated for pain in his hip and leg, and Mason was released after being evaluated for a cut and a bruise on his head, the school said.

Dubin was hospitalized Saturday night and Sunday, and discharged Monday morning after he was evaluated for a suspected concussion. His MRI results came back clear, the school said. Kelley was discharged Monday after he was hospitalized Saturday night and Sunday and evaluated for possible broken ribs. His medical tests came back clear.
