Right now, it's just an empty patch of land bordered by N. 6th Street to the east, N. 10th Street to the west, and W. Michigan Street to the north. But soon, it could be home to the city's Iron District and a new minor league soccer team.

A $200 million proposal could transform the long-abandoned Riverside Golf Club in Riverside into the Riverside Adventure Center, a massive 126-acre sports complex featuring kayaking, surfing, climbing areas and more.
The golf course, which has been closed since 2009, sits overgrown with brush, unkept trees, and broken fencing. However, under the new plan from developer Adrenaline Sports Resorts Collaborative, the property would be revitalized into an Olympic-quality, 85-acre adventure center.
Proposed features include whitewater rafting, a surf park, zip lining and kayaking. [KTLA]
Out with the old and in with the new, Maverick Stadium is being renovated with Western Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships on the horizon.
Located at 1307 W Mitchell St., the home of UTA’s track and field team has been renovated with a resurfaced track and a new scoreboard.
Head coach John Sauerhage expressed high levels of gratitude to the university for making the project possible.
“We’re very excited and very thankful that our administration, Jon Fagg and Jennifer Cowley supported the renovation of the track,” Sauerhage said. “We can’t thank them enough.”
Maverick Stadium isn’t only used for Division I competition but for high school events as well, he said. The stadium will host the University Interscholastic League championships along with the WAC championships. The facility also hosts UTA’s annual Bed Races. [The Shorthorn]
