Scores of soccer fans were injured Friday night following a match at Jaber al-Ahmad International Stadium.

According to a report from the Guardian, nearly 40 people were hurt after a glass barrier failed following Oman’s 5-4 penalty shootout win against United Arab Emirates.

The barrier apparently broke as Omani fans pressed against the glass barrier during celebrations after the win.

The match was held in Kuwait at the last minute after diplomatic issues arose between the original host, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain.
