Nike Teams Up with a London Startup on a Surreal Treadmill Experience
Nike is partnering with London startup FIELD to create a multi-sensory experience for treadmill users.
The technology, called Force of Nature, will pair with Nike's Free Run to provide an interactive experience which aims to turn often monotonous treadmill running into a "reactive piece of art." Microsoft Kinetic sensors will use information gathered from the runner's motion to create "patterns and perspective forms" that are designed to "help him or her run faster, stronger, and further."
The technology has been described as "a journey of immersive visual effects that amplify the feeling of getting into the flow of running." Check it out:

Fans at Regional Baseball Tourney Insist on Singing National Anthem
Due to time constraints, the National Anthem was not played prior to an NCAA Regional Softball Tournament game hosted by University of Louisiana-Lafayette.
However, fans were not about to sit and watch a game of softball without first hearing the National Anthem, so they stood up and sang it themselves. As the fan-led rendition of the Star Spangled Banner commenced, the players who were warming up on the field paused and faced the flag as well.
"What a beautiful moment at UL's Lamson Park," remarked 99.9 KTDY morning show host Chris Reed. "The fans that started this should be really proud of themselves."
NCAA and/or ESPN said there would not be a playing of the National Anthem prior to the game and the Cajun Nation responded appropriately....game did not start according to their plan...#USA #CajunNation #FightLikeMike #GeauxCajuns #NCAA #ESPN

High School Golfers Aid In Apartment Fire Rescue
The Underwood (MN) High School golf team and their coach came to the rescue when an apartment complex next their practice site burst into flames.
According to the Fergus Falls Journal, when members of the golf team noticed smoke coming from an apartment complex 50 yards away from where they practice, they called 911 and rushed to the scene to help tenants evacuate. "As they got there they yelled, threw stuff through windows and (Coach) Ross even kicked down a door to one of the apartments."
The team even helped an elderly tenant escape the blaze, who, due to a recent leg surgery, was not able to do so on her own.
The apartment complex burned to the ground. However, due in part to the efforts of the high school golfers, no tenants were injured in the blaze.
