Subscription Ticket Plan Targets Millennial Mets Fans

It’s like Netflix, but for the New York Mets.

The New York Post reports that the Mets are rolling out a new subscription-based ticketing plan which will allow fans standing-room-only access to Citi Field for $39 a month. Fans can even download mobile tickets at the last minute.

“The program is targeted to the millennial demographic and unconventional audiences. It’s a great way to gain access to Citi Field at a low cost,” Chris Zaber, the team’s senior vice president of ticket sales told the Post. “Even if you come to three games a month, it’s a great deal.”

The Amazin’ Mets Pass plan is based on a mobile app for iPhone and Android devices, and allows fans to download tickets to nearly every home game (excluding the April 4 home opener and the July 2-3 matchup against the crosstown Yankees). Fans can use the MLB Ballpark app to get their tickets directly on their device.

The subscription plan automatically renews each month, and allows fans the option to upgrade to a ticketed seat for one Monday-Thursday game.

Similar plans have been launched by the St. Louis Cardinals and the Minnesota Twins in recent years.
