A member of the University of Wisconsin marching band is making some noise by landing a NIL deal with an iconic Wisconsin brand.

Will Hazeltine, 21, who plays the mellophone in the band and is a geological engineering major at Madison, recently landed a deal with popular regional gas station franchise Kwik Trip, marking the company's first NIL partnership.

Hazeltine said he simply emailed the company and asked "what is the potential to have a partnership with you, because I love Kwik Trip?"

"Where I'm from, the main gas station is a Kwik Trip," Hazeltine told WTMJ. "So, every time I had to get gas, it was a Kwik Trip. And from there I got the Kwik Trip rewards card, so now I'm hooked for life."

As part of the deal, Hazeltine makes Kwik Trip-related content that he posts to his social media pages.

"If it's work, it's fun work, and when it's fun work, it's almost not work, so I guess it's not work," Hazeltine said, noting that he's currently working on a video of the many coffees available at the stores.

"I rated every single Kwik Trip coffee," Hazeltine said, "and I searched how to judge coffee, so then I made a little Excel sheet, because I'm an engineer, so of course, I make an Excel, and then I rated all my coffee types from Kwik Trip."

Hazeltine is getting paid as part of his deal with the company, but he did not say how much.
