The latest evidence that the National Football League may be in crisis comes out of Tampa Bay, Fla., where the Buccaneers are actually giving away tickets.
According to Yahoo Sports, the Buccaneers drew a crowd of just 40,682 fans Sunday for their matchup against San Francisco, the team’s lowest turnout for a home game since November 2010.

According to Yahoo Sports, the Buccaneers drew a crowd of just 40,682 fans Sunday for their matchup against San Francisco, the team’s lowest turnout for a home game since November 2010.
The Buccaneers rank third-worst in average attendance, sitting just behind the Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Chargers.
Tampa Bay is now looking to bring more fans to Raymond James Stadium down the final stretch of the season by offering Season Pass members two complimentary tickets to this Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers. There are reportedly a limited number of tickets available that will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis. Bucs fans have until Thursday to reserve their tickets.
The Athletic’s Greg Auman tweeted that this past weekend saw University of Southern Florida outdraw the Bucs at Raymond James Stadium. According to Auman, “Announced attendance had USF-UCF at 57,626, Bucs-49ers at 50,436; and actual attendance per TSA shows USF at 47,104, Bucs at 40,682."
