Boston University - Fitness & Recreation Center & Agganis Arena

Boston, Mass.

Situated on a 10-acre site fronting historic Commonwealth Avenue, Boston University’s Fitness & Recreation Center and Agganis Arena holds a prominent position in the urban landscape.  Part of the University’s John Hancock Student Village, the 843,000 sf complex meets the long range needs of varsity athletics and creates dynamic new recreational opportunities for more than 30,000 students and faculty.

Nova Southeastern University - University Center

Ft. Lauderdale, Florida

Nova Southeastern University’s simultaneous need for state-of-the-art athletic facilities for its Division II teams and for a new student center offering amenities expected by today’s incoming freshmen resulted in development of a multimillion-dollar “fusion” facility that includes a 5,500-seat intercollegiate sports arena and convocation center, a recreation center, a student union, and a performing arts center.

Richmond Olympic Oval

Home to the long track speed skating competition, this signature venue for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games includes a landmark multipurpose sports, recreation and community facility on Richmond’s waterfront. During the Games this premier venue will seat 8,000 spectators and provide first class support areas for athletes, spectators and the Olympic family. Beyond serving as a catalyst for transformation of the riverfront into a high-density, urban neighborhood, the Oval is intended to function as a future venue for community events, creating a lasting legacy beyond its immediate purpose. Project owners are pursuing LEED® Silver Certification.

University of Maine Student Recreation & Fitness Center

The University of Maine’s Student Recreation & Fitness Center features a three-court gymnasium, fitness center, natatorium, and suspended walking/jogging track. The building fits seamlessly into its heavily wooded site and incorporates sustainable building materials and systems. Two double-height, skylighted galleries form the primary circulation.
